     A proposed amendment to the Caddo Mills Zoning Ordinance and Map to Rezone an approximate 353.6 acre tract of land situated in the John R. Ruble Survey, Abstract No. 892, the D. Henley Survey, Abstract No. 457, the G.B. McDonald Survey, Abstract No. 727, the P. Shanks Survey, Abstract No. 1004 and in the J. Clark Survey, Abstract No. 193, Hunt County, Texas, generally located east FM 36, north of FM 1903, west of I-30 and south of CR 2166, known as the Trailstone Development, from its current Agricultural (AG) Classification to a Planned Development (PD) District to allow development of not more than 1355 residential lots with special development standards.

Cady Survey, Abstract No. 157, Hunt County, Texas, generally located east and north of FM 1565, west of FM 36 and south of Hwy 66, known as the Caddo Downs Development from its current Agricultural (AG) Classification to a Planned Development District (PD) to allow development of not more than 397 residential lots with special development standards.

NOTICE OF 2018 TAX YEAR PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX RATE FOR CITY OF CADDO MILLS

A tax rate of $0.693693 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of CITY OF CADDO MILLS. This rate exceeds the lower of the effective or rollback tax rate, and state law requires that two public hearings be held by the governing body before adopting the proposed tax rate. The governing body of CITY OF CADDO MILLS proposes to use revenue attributable to the tax rate increase for the purpose of maintenance and operation. 

          PROPOSED TAX RATE                           $0.693693 per $100

          PRECEEDING YEAR'S TAX RATE         $0.730000 per $100

          EFFECTIVE TAX RATE                           $0.683785 per $100

          ROLLBACK TAX RATE                            $0.693693 per $100

The effective tax rate is the total tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue for CITY OF CADDO MILLS from the same properties in both the 2017 tax year and the 2018 tax year. The rollback tax rate is the highest tax rate that CITY OF CADDO MILLS may adopt before voters are entitled to petition for an election to limit the rate that may be approved to the rollback rate. YOUR TAXES OWED UNDER ANY OF THE ABOVE RATES CAN BE CALCULATED AS FOLLOWS:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The City has received numerous inquiries regarding the traffic light at Hwy 66 and FM 36 (Gilmer St) and when it will be operational. This issue is and has been in the hands of TxDOT and Garland, Dallas and Northeastern Railroad. The City regularly calls TxDOT to get updates. It is the City's hope that the light will be working well before school commences but has no control over that happening. NOTICE:  The city will begin spraying for mosquitoes on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 9:00 p.m. and continue on each Thursday night as long as deemed necessary. It is recommended that you stay inside while the fogger is going around. The City requests your cooperation in ridding your property of any standing water and using mosquito dunks in ditches with standing water.
